Randy Ruhter, President and Founder

Randy began his auction profession in 1967.

Since that time, Randy has conducted successful auctions across a large area of Nebraska as well as other states.

Randy has been in the real estate sales field for nearly 25 years and has held his Nebraska Real Estate Brokers license since 1984. During that time he has conducted the sale of thousands of acres of choice farm land in and around south central Nebraska.

His experience in the sale of personal property, especially farm equipment, is well known having conducted as many as a hundred or more personal property auctions per year. That experience and product knowledge also has allowed him to complete hundreds of property appraisals.
 

Randy has served as Director, Secretary/Treasurer, as well as President of the Nebraska Auctioneers Association. He was selected as the "Auctioneer of the Year" for the Nebraska Auctioneers Association in 1989.

Randy served a 3 year term as Director of the National Auctioneers Association and was Chairman of the Membership Committee. He is currently serving on the Governmental Affairs Committee.

Sharing his experiences in the auction business is important to Randy as he has had the opportunity to travel on behalf of the National Auctioneers Association giving seminars on various auction topics. He has also given several presentations at both state and national conventions on auction related subjects.

Sam Ruhter, Auctioneer and Real Estate Sales Associate

Sam is a 1976 graduate of Missouri Auction School and has been employed by Ruhter Auction and Realty, Inc. as an auctioneer since that time. His knowledge of equipment and personal property values and are an asset to his clients. He was co-manager of the Prosser Machinery Consignment Auction for many years, an annual machinery consignment auction that was established in 1966 and sold a wide variety of farm related items.

Sam received his Nebraska Real Estate salesman’s license in 1987 and has conducted or assisted in the sales of real estate by auction since that time.

Sam has served a 3 year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Auctioneers Association and served on various committees in that organization.

Stan Ruhter, Auctioneer

Stan began his auction career with Ruhter Auction & Realty, Inc. in 1984. He has been a staff auctioneer since that time.

His expertise lie in the sale of all types of personal property with strengths in the sale of farm equipment and livestock.

Stan has served a 3 year term as Director of the Nebraska Auctioneers Association as well as other various committee work.

Barb Ruhter, Corporate Secretary and Head Cashier

Barb, along with her husband Randy is co-owner of Ruhter Auction & Realty, Inc.

Barb’s knowledge in the field of auction related accounting systems, computerized clerking techniques and equipment as well as cashiering fundamentals is extensive.

Barb has presented several seminars on auction clerking and cashiering subjects on the state level.

Barb has served as Director as well as President of the Nebraska Auctioneers Auxiliary and served on many other committees. She is also a member of the National Auctioneers Auxiliary and is currently serving a 3 year

Barb and Randy are the parents of 2 married daughters.

Janine Ruhter, Sales Associate and Cashier

Janine received her Nebraska Real Estate Salesman license in 1984 and now serves as our residential specialist. Janine has served as Director of the Nebraska Auctioneers Association Auxiliary and Director and President of the Hastings, Nebraska Board of Realtors.

Janine was co-manager of the Prosser Machinery Consignment Auction for many years and has been cashier for Ruhter Auction & Realty, Inc. since 1979.

Sam and Janine are parents of 3 daughters.

Glenda Ruhter, Auction Clerk

Glenda brings to our staff over 25 years of auction clerking experience. She is a member of the Nebraska Auctioneers Auxiliary having served a 3 year term on it’s Board of Directors.

Her experience in conventional clerking as well as her keyboard capabilities with our computer clerking system is invaluable to our firm and clients. Her product knowledge, speed and accuracy are a great asset to our auction success.

Stan and Glenda are parents of 2 grown sons.

Delmer VanLengen
Delmer is a licensed Sales Associate and our lead person in the Personal Property Auction set-up department.

Delmer grew up on an Adams County farm and graduated from Juniata High School. Delmer retired from a 31 year teaching career in 1999, having taught in Oconto, Roseland and Silver Lake school systems.

Delmer and his wife Sandy are members of Peace Lutheran Church in Hastings and have 3 grown children. His interests include grandchildren, travel, antiques, and attending auctions.

We are proud to have Delmer as part of our full time staff.

Lee Hogan
Lee is a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate.

A native of the Phillipsburg Kansas, Lee moved to the Hastings area in 1968.

Lee has been involved in 4H for 25+ years, served as President of the 4H Council, President of the Extension Council, Member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and 11 year Board member of the Adams County Ag. Society Board of Directors and Chairman of Oregon Trails Rodeo Committee for 7 years as well as Director of National Invitational Truck Rodeo in Las Vegas.

Lee has 25 years experience in transportation and logistics and has been involved in sales most of his life.

Travis Augustin
Travis is a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate.

Travis is a 1995 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a degree in Agri-Business. Upon graduation, Travis returned to the family farm and assumed a position as a ring assistant with Ruhter Auction & Realty, Inc. where he has assisted with all types of personal property auctions for the past 10 years.

Travis’s wide range of experience both in the auction arena and in agri-business has equipped him with some very valuable tools to assist you with all your real estate needs.
 

Steve Schuppan
Steve is a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate.

Steve continued the legacy of family farming for 35 years until his retirement in 2005. His knowledge and expertise in the Production Agriculture Industry is a definite asset to our organization. Steve is also the owner of Schuppan Trailer Sales in Doniphan, Nebraska

Steve has two grown children and a stepson with his wife Lori. His greatest joy is being called “Grandpa” by his 4 grandchildren.

Steve enjoys raising horses, trail rides and camping

Amber Hassett
Amber is a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate.

Amber graduated from Doniphan Public High School in 1995. She then went on to Central Community College and graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration in 1997. Amber has had experience in the field of sales since 1996 and is very excited to start a new venture in the real estate profession. In September of 2000 she married David Hassett and in September of 2003 they were blessed with a daughter named Dylan Melissa. The family resides in Doniphan. Her hobbies include showing her horse at NHCA shows and trail rides with her family.
 

A lifelong resident of Adams Co.  Alan brings over 30 years of experience in real estate in both Agriculture and Residential. Alan farmed for over 30 years and is currently involved in the construction of new homes in 3 subdivisions in Hastings.

Judi Carpenter
Ruhter Auction & Realty, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition to our staff of Judi Carpenter, Office Administrator

Judi’s duties will be many but her talents in office administration and web page design are a needed addition.

Judi is a life long resident of Adams County living in the Hastings and Juniata area. A graduate of Adams Central High School, Judi is the mother of 2 boys and a daughter. She attended Central Community College training in the field of Secretarial Sciences. Her computer skills, bookkeeping expertise and business experience will be a great addition to our office.

We welcome Judi to our staff.
